The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Team in Marlborough, MA is seeking an Senior Systems Engineer in a role committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems.

As part of the Collins Aerospace Mission Systems team, we specialize in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of Mission Systems. As part of the PCS Department, the Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and PTW), Line-of-Site (LOS) Radio Terminals and Secure Switching Networks.

What You Will Do
    • Lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
    • Define Hardware and Software Interfaces
    • Work independently developing simulation models (MATLAB or equivalent)
    • Analyze and document system behaviors
    • Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems
    • Work autonomously with limited oversight from manager
    • Coach and review the work of lower level professionals
    • Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
    • Communicate with customers, vendors, or subcontractors

Qualifications You Must Have
    • Strong requirements development experience
    • Strong modeling & simulation experience
    • Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
    • Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date
    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
    • Proficient in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody
    • Agile working environment experience
    • Systems support to software application and hardware development
    • System or application integration
    • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF
    • Experience in Scripting
