Job Purpose and Overview

As a Senior Product Developer at Dawn Foods in Leeuwarden, you will play a pivotal role in creating new products and enhancing existing ones. You will ensure product quality while adhering to standards such as IFS/BRC, ISO 9001, and HACCP. With significant growth planned at our Leeuwarden facility, you can expect exciting and challenging projects in product development. Your work will focus on designing and implementing innovative recipes. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to elevate our products and processes to the next level.

 

What You’ll Do as a Senior Product Developer at Dawn Foods:

• Developing new recipes and optimizing existing ones.
• Improving existing products in terms of taste, raw materials, as well as production processes and/or costs.
• Testing raw materials and advising on alternatives in collaboration with Procurement and QA.
• Developing recipes and production processes that can be adapted for industrial production, taking HACCP guidelines and food regulations into account.
• Ensuring quality assurance and product safety in accordance with legal guidelines.
• Advising, as part of development and in collaboration with other departments, on new production lines, machinery, or packaging.
• Training operators and management in product knowledge, raw materials, and production processes.
• Providing support to the sales team and technical guidance during customer visits and trade fairs.
• Responding to trends and developments within the market and competition.

 

What You Need to Be a Senior Product Developer at Dawn Foods:
You are a hands-on food technologist with a passion for the bakery industry. We’re looking for someone who has:

• A bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in product development with a strong affinity for bakery products.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in both English and Dutch.
• A curious, creative, and proactive attitude with a willingness to share knowledge and ideas.
• Flexibility, including the ability to oversee trial productions outside standard working hours.
