Summary
The Senior Team Lead, Equipment Control oversees the full lifecycle management of trucks, trailers, and fuel assets to ensure optimal availability, cost efficiency, and compliance across the fleet. This role partners closely with Operations, Safety, and Finance to align equipment strategy with business goals, while maintaining vendor relationships, monitoring market trends, and driving continuous improvement in processes and systems. The Senior Team Lead provides leadership and guidance to the Equipment Control team, ensuring data accuracy, operational excellence, and proactive risk management to support the company’s long-term fleet and logistics strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of trucks, trailers, and fuel supply.
• Source and select vendors with strong pricing and service terms.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and service quality.
• Track and monitor market trends and pricing to inform buy/sell decisions.
• Track fleet size, utilization, and condition to align with business needs.
• Maintain accurate equipment tracking in all systems.
• Oversee quality and safety standards for trucks, trailers, and fuel supply.
• Develop and execute plans for asset retirement and resale to maximize returns.
• Reduce costs through effective vendor negotiations and minimizing downtime.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks proactively.
• Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Finance to achieve business goals.
• Improve processes, systems, and tools for enhanced efficiency and control.
• Support workforce planning and training initiatives for the department.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in equipment control, in the trucking industry is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of equipment control, contract management, and inventory control principles.
• Familiarity with trucking and transportation equipment, including trucks, trailers, and fuel specifications and requirements.
• CDL A holder is a plus

• Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and others)

Physical Demands
The physical demands of this role are consistent with both office and field-based work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and communicate effectively through talking and hearing. The role involves frequent use of computers and telephones, as well as occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching while moving through terminals, warehouses, and yard environments. The employee may occasionally lift or move objects up to 20 pounds, such as files or materials for orientations. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision to effectively use a computer and observe work environments. The position requires the ability to travel between company locations by car or plane and to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting operational areas.

Work Environment
This role operates in both office and field environments, supporting employees across terminals, yards, and operat
