CMSD team is the pioneer and dominant market leader of the highly successful GreenPAKTM family of products. This customer configurable product and platform enable customers to differentiate their products, reduces BOM cost and development cost and time. CMSD team is continuously expanding our product portfolio that includes high performance analog IP’s, Power, and FPGA.
As a Principal Analog Engineer Power Architect, you will be responsible for leading the development of high-efficiency and ultra cost-competitive IP’s for integration in CMSD’s broad portfolio of products. As our power specialist, guiding and mentoring team members is essential and one of your most important responsibilities. This is a senior technical leadership position, and you will be working with design, product definers, and program managers to drive NPI (New Product Introduction) execution as well as continuous efficiency and performance improvement
Job Description
- Architect and design high-efficiency and ultra cost-competitive power IP’s for consumer, industrial, server infrastructure, medical, as well as automotive applications. These IP’s include but not limited to DC-DC converters (buck, boost, and configurable buck-boost), Load Switches, Power-Muxes, e-Fuses, and LDO’s with high PSRR.
- The aforementioned IP’s will also be leveraged to build standard and application-specific products for Tier-1 customers.
- Guide and mentor CMSD’s global Design, Characterization, and Test Engineering team on power design and test techniques.
- Work with product definers to develop product specifications to achieve optimal tradeoffs between product competitiveness and development cost.
- Collaborate with product definition and marketing on product roadmaps and long-term IP development plans.

- Proven track record in designing high-efficiency and ultra-cost-competitive power products.
- Proven track record in taking these power products to production.
- In-depth knowledge about various power conversion topologies, feedback loop control architectures, as well as practical considerations for low-power, low noise, optimal line/load transient characteristics, and seamless & fast operating mode transitions.
- Specialized knowledge in high-voltage and high-current design and protection mechanisms. As examples, OVP (Over Voltage Protection) and SCP (Short Circuit Protection) are required in all of our power products.
- Extensive experience in tackling issues in high-voltage and high-current application use cases. The main focus is power IC, but the use cases can extend to related applications such as Motor gate-driver IC.
- Strong knowledge of power process technologies is a must. Deep understanding of key tradeoffs in Rsp, SOA, and HV device area efficiency is critical.
- Highly knowledgeable in HV ESD, Latch-up, and IC reliability issues.
- Extensive experience in leading and mentoring high-caliber design teams.
