About the role
Cost Accounting ManagerWe are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Cost Accounting Manager to join a fast-growing biotech organization focused on cutting-edge innovation in life-changing therapies. This role will oversee cost analysis, product costing, inventory accounting, and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making across manufacturing and operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the month-end close process related to cost and inventory, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysisDevelop and maintain standard product costing models and cost allocation methodologiesPartner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and R&D to analyze operational performance and identify cost-saving opportunitiesMonitor inventory movements, work orders, and production variances to ensure financial accuracy and complianceSupport budgeting and forecasting of COGS, manufacturing expenses, and capital projectsImplement and improve cost accounting systems, tools, and internal controlsConduct periodic cost reviews and present insights to leadership to drive operational efficiencySupport internal and external audit requirements
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)7+ years of progressive cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience, preferably in biotech, pharma, or life sciencesStrong understanding of GAAP, inventory valuation, and standard costingHands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, or similar)Advanced Excel skills with the ability to model data and communicate results clearlyDemonstrated track record of process improvement and cross-functional collaboration
