What You’ll Do
Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is looking for Sr. Manager to join the DRAM BE team to support Tier 1/2 customers for DRAM products. This is a customer-facing role responsible for coordinating product qualification, failure analysis of advanced memory products such as LPDDR/DDR/HBM/GDDR used in customer’s applications. The role requires a subject matter expert capable of facilitating the exchange of information to address key concerns related to product specifications, application, platform debug, quality, compliance and ad hoc inquiries. This role can discuss our DRAM product plan with customers, explain our technical aspects, and share a roadmap to align their project schedule with our schedule. Engage in technical response and sample scheduling to strengthen the capabilities of various customers based on their experience in DRAM projects.

- Clearly understand DRAM product specs/features, systems and applications. Based on solid understanding, manage customer engineering teams, procurement engineering and other technical stakeholders to ensure Samsung DRAM products are designed-in and qualified on customer platforms.
- Take leadership in frequent communication with customers and engineering team members to understand their qualification requirements and then working to align on these goals both internally and with the customer.
- Understand the process and testing of DRAM, conduct consultations with customers, and share our roadmap with customers to continue technical collaboration.
- Set the DRAM product enablement strategy based on understandings of customers’ platform development strategy and product development roadmap.
- Proficiency in simultaneously working with US colleagues, Korean HQ, and customers to influence decisions. Strong understanding of product/technology roadmaps.
- You will work with other specialists within the memory teams, Product Engineering, FAE, Quality Assurance, and business unit teams.
- Identify new technologies and trends for the latest DRAM and respond to customer requests.
- 10-15% travel.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree required. BSEE a plus. 15+ years semiconductor industry experience, strong understanding of DRAM memory products, ecosystem, and roadmaps. Direct experience with HBM a plus.
- At least 2+ years of customer support/product management/enabling experience.
- BS/MS CE/EE/Technical Background (MBA good to have).
- Strong technical communication skills (verbal and written) to interface with cross-functional teams within and/or outside of the organization.
- A basic understanding of DRAM process/test is required.
- Communicate with the customer using the basic specifications of DRAM and understand and discuss the specifications requested by the customer.
- Understand the step of the DRAM development phase and discuss the sample type, quantity and schedule with the customer.
- Experience with DRAM technical support operations.
- Good understanding of semiconductor (DRAM & CPU/GPU/SOC) industry ecosystem: vendors/suppliers, partners, OEM/ODM/CM, influencers.
- Experience in providing DRAM samples and scheduling consultations and communicating with customers and headquarters.
- An understanding of semiconductor products and technologies and professional level of experience.
- Proven track record in product/program planning and management.
- Ability to work with global stake holders. Cope with foreign cultures, customs.
- Korean language fluency is a plus.
