Staff Analytics Engineer

The RoleZenBusiness is seeking a data engineering professional to partner with our data scientists by owning and developing ELT architecture.  You will own analytical data models, data warehouse architecture, and management of data assets.
This position will report to the Manager of Engineering Data and is a remote role.

Responsibilities

• Owns and develops Analytics Data Models following industry best practices. This includes data modeling, architectural documentation, and implementation.
• Work with app developers and data scientists to understand reporting needs and ensure our data model is understood and ready for analysis. 
• Contribute to data analysis and identify opportunities to further enrich our dataset and improve data quality.
• Responsible for understanding use cases and working with leadership to prepare team backlog.
• Accountable for the performance of the portion of the team that he is technically responsible for.
• Provides mentorship and training to junior engineers on their team.
• Work with the technology team to make tool selections.

Qualifications

• Advanced working SQL knowledge including schema design.
• Extensive experience in data warehouse modeling concepts like Kimball, Inmon, Data vault.
• Extensive experience working in compute engines like Snowflake, Databricks, Qubole, etc.
• Knowledge of real-time data frameworks like Kafka, Pubsub, Spark Streaming, etc.
• Experience working with visualization tools like Tableau, Sigma, Looker, etc.
• Experience working in a decentralized data environment supporting microservice architecture.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience specifically with Snowflake, Tableau, DBT, or Fivetran.
• DB operational experience - managing query performance, analyzing warehouse builds, and database maintenance.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
