We are currently seeking a full-time, Medical Records Clerk (experience required) to join our team at Phillips State Prison located in Buford, GA.
Shift:
- Day shift | 40 hrs. a week | Monday- Friday | No weekend
- 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Pay rate:
- $18- $20 an hour

Qualifications
The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for initiating and maintaining offender health records, responding to requests for health records, and performing clerical duties. Works closely with healthcare staff to ensure maintenance and accountability for offender health records to support continuity of care.
Medical Records Clerk – Key Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Records or Health Information Management role

Healthcare experience is required – preferably within a clinical, correctional, or hospital setting

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when handling confidential patient records

Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards

Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)

Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills for accurate data entry and collaboration with healthcare staff

Comfortable handling high-volume data entry and scanning/documentation tasks
-
Experience with chart audits, filing systems, and maintaining record integrity is a plus
-
Knowledge of medical terminology is highly preferred.
