About the role


VACANCY:  The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Student Resource Team (SRT) Leader position for the 2026-2027 school year.

LOCATION: Wood View Elementary School

JOB SUMMARY:  The SRT Leader is responsible for: working with administration and staff to improve instructional outcomes for learners; coordination of building-based special education programs and services; coordination of problem solving activities performed by Student Resource Teams; coordination and facilitation of IEP Meetings that comply with both IDEA and ISBE Special Education Rules and Regulations and Procedural Safeguards; and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date IEP database and required student records.  Additional duties may from time to time be assigned in accordance with provisions of the Board's policies and requirements.
 
Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Teaching (PEL) Professional Educator Licensure with required endorsement (LBS1, Type 73 School Psychologist or School Social Worker)
  • Knowledge of current, research-based teaching techniques and instructional methodologies for children who are at-risk and have special needs
  • Familiarity with IDEA and ISBE Special Education Rules and Regulations and Procedural Safeguards
  • Familiarity with the use of technology and related IEP databases
  • Ability to facilitate problem solving teams and IEP meetings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff and families
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Leadership experience working with ISBE

 
WORKING CONDITIONS:  Salary is in accordance with the teacher salary schedule.  The District offers excellent fringe benefits including life, health and dental insurance.
