Senior Financial Analyst - Hybrid

Position Summary
Assists in the preparation, evaluation and interpretation of past, budgeted and projected financial results for manufacturing facilities. Assist with the month end financial close process along with the reconciliation of Inventory and reserves. Also maintains capital expenditure analysis on a higher business level and works with Operations to assist with the process of submitting new projects.
This role is eligble for a hybrid work schedule. You will work onsite 3 days per week at our Hopkins building located in Mentor, OH. Additional days on site may be required within the initial training/onboarding period.
Duties
Financial Accounting and Analysis – 50%
• Assists in the month, quarter and year-end financial close process
• Creates and submits various journal entries in support of the close process.
• Analyze and reconcile various accounts to the General Ledger; including inventory, accounts payable and accruals. Initiate corrective action where appropriate.
• Performs analysis and prepare support schedules/reports of monthly operating results vs. budgets/projections; includes PPV, inventory and reserves.
• Develop and maintain financial templates and analysis to improve the financial accounting and internal/external financial reporting on acquisition and other business units.
• Gathers and provides backup documentation to management and business units for requested financial information.
• Creates and provides reporting to management on a monthly, quarterly and year end basis, various financial reports including both internal and external reporting.
• Develop financial templates, models and analysis tools in Excel, Khalix, Cognos and Tableau (standard financial reporting tools)
• Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations
• Recommend, interpret and enforce the internal control policies, procedures, and practices of the Company.
Prepares financial assessments/analysis as needed to support posted activity.
• Analysis to support development of strategies to optimize the utilization of DC resources.
• Prepare plan and forecast for all areas of the DC’s; includes staffing plan, capital expenditure plan and expense accounts.
• Work with plant operations to submit for new capital projects. Track, maintain and forecast existing capital project expenditures.
• Investigates, reviews and analyzes the accounting flow, controls and procedures. Maintain control documentation. Initiate corrective action where appropriate.

Capital Project Maintenance – 35%
• Gather and maintain the Capital Project Portfolio, including creating and maintaining support of actual capital expenditures
• Create and maintain worksheets / charts to quickly analyze Capital Project Portfolio versus plan.
• Process Capital Approval Request forms
• Review capital requests in compliance with the STERIS capital policy, suggest changes as required, secure approvals and submit the approved capital requests to the project coordinator for set up in Oracle Financials.
• Prepares financial assessments/analysis to support post investment reviews.
Forecasting, Planning and Budgeting Cycle – 15%
• Prepare quarterly forecasting and annual planning/budget process.
• Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from plan.
• Determines financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of financial accounting, analysis and reporting experience
- Knowledge and/or demonstrated use of business reporting and financial systems (i.e. Oracle, Excel, Longview, Cognos, Tableau etc.)
- Experience working in manufacturing
