Manager of Accounting

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee general ledger accounting, primarily focusing on cash, fixed assets, capitalized software and contract cost management. The ideal candidate will possess extensive Excel skills, cross-functional solid communication abilities, and experience collaborating with reporting teams on footnotes and monthly closing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

•   General Ledger Management:
•   Oversee the general ledger accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
•   Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
•   Capitalized Software and Contract Cost Management:
•   Monitor and manage capitalized software costs, ensuring proper capitalization, amortization, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
•   Oversee the tracking and reporting of contract costs, ensuring accurate cost allocation and revenue recognition.
•   Cash Management and Fixed Assets:
•   Oversee recording of daily cash transactions and monthly bank reconciliations.
•   Oversee Fixed Asset Module within NetSuite.
•   Cross-Functional Communication:
•   Act as a liaison between the accounting department and other departments, ensuring clear and effective communication of financial information and requirements.
•   Work closely with the IT, legal, and operations teams to gather necessary information for accurate financial reporting and analysis.
•   Process Improvement and Compliance:
•   Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
•   Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards and regulations.
•   Ad Hoc Projects:
•   Participate in and lead various ad hoc projects as assigned, providing financial expertise and support to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

•   Education and Experience:
•   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.
•   Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on capitalized software and contract cost management.
•   Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role is highly desirable.
•   Technical Skills:
•   Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools.
•   Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
•   Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
•   Soft Skills:
•   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders across the organization.
•   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
•   Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
