Job Summary:

Oversee the administration of the high school's Unified Track and Field team which is composed of a proportional number of students who are Special Olympics-eligible (defined as students with an intellectual disability, cognitive delay, or developmental disability) and students without intellectual disabilities.

Position Information:

• Part-time, no benefits
• 2025-2026 Salary - $600
• 2 practices per week, 1 home meet, and 2 away meets with an estimated 40 hours for the season

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Liaison regularly with the school's athletic director and Special Olympics Pennsylvania to ensure quality program standards are being met.
• Develop and implement practice plans in which track and field instruction and coaching is provided to all participants.
• Impart the philosophy of a positive inclusive sports experience by following the principles of Unified Sports�.
• Provide guidance and manage team strategies at Unified Track and Field competitions.
• Recruit a proportional number of students who are Special Olympics-eligible.
• Handle any paperwork or administrative duties required by the school district and/or Special Olympics Pennsylvania.
• If serving as a host site for a Unified Track and Field competition, recruit volunteers to help conduct and manage the events.
• Attend the free Unified Sports� Track and Field Coaches' Training in your county. Complete the free online Special Olympics coaches' courses. 

Qualifications:

• Coaching experience preferred
• Evidence of effective leadership
• Ability to articulate vision for building/enhancing the scholastic program
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills

• Current PA Criminal History background check
• Current Federal Criminal background check
• Current Child Abuse background check
