Legal Intern (Summer 2026)

The expected salary range for this position is $22.20 - $26.08. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Thank you for your interest in Compassion’s Internship Program. We are looking for two Legal Interns to join our General Counsel Office this summer in Colorado Springs. Work alongside the team in helping draft and set up contract templates, revise corporate documents, Claims follow-up, Licensing and registration processes, and other project work to contribute to the mission of releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.

The application deadline is January 1, 2026. This is an in-person, full-time internship position based in Colorado Springs, CO.

• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

• Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

• Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.

• Current J.D. candidate or law student (preferred).

• Available for the entire internship period: June 1 to August 7, 2026.

• Ability to work remotely Monday - Friday from 8-5pm during the duration of the internship.

• Legally eligible for employment in the United States (i.e., if an international student, must already have a work or study visa, SSN, etc.). 

• Experience drafting simple legal documents for identified clients including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda.

• Experience or interest in employment law is a plus.

• Knowledge of new and updated laws and regulations.
