Sr. Communications Specialist

LocationThis role can work remotely from anywhere in the United States, with travel to the client site as required by the client and/or Bixal. You must be legally authorized to work in the US.  Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Strategize, develop, write, and edit content for a variety of print and web communication vehicles according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
• Provide expert copywriting and editorial support for various client communication projects to ensure the content is clear, grammatically accurate, consistent with the client’s style guide, and effectively conveys the desired message.
• Compose and revise copy for features and news articles and guarantee quality control methods for writing.
• Coordinate communication campaign initiatives to increase audience knowledge and participation in public and agency-wide programs and activities.
• Publish content on client's web-based and digital channels.
• Support and facilitate the creation and completion of communication campaigns and projects.
• Generate multimedia (digital/web, print, and audiovisual) goods, such as presentations, brochures, manuals, reports, publications, user guides, training materials, information kits, banners, and digital signs.
• Perform research, data collection, analysis, metric reporting, and other activities relevant to the communication campaign.
• Ensure documents and media artifacts are managed in accordance with FOIA and records management regulations.
• Assist the section chief with duties that support daily communication operations.
• Execute additional communication-related responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 6+ years of experience in the strategic communications area.
• Expertise in researching (through quantitative and qualitative methods), planning and executing complex marketing, public relations, branding, strategy, media buying and communications projects with multiple deliverables.
• Expertise in recommending solutions including the development of communication strategies, marketing plans, training programs, curricula, media buys, public relations campaigns, and other learning initiatives.
• Proficiencies in creating content, and publication and curation of that content for digital outlets.
• Strong collaboration skills to create and implement creative solutions.
• Experience in assembling the final product from raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, and graphics.
• Capable of effectively meeting with internal clients and stakeholders, offering communication guidance and support.
