Student and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution. Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellbeing, connection and belonging, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.

The Assistant Coach for Women’s Volleyball supports the Head Coach in the planning and operation of the Women’s Volleyball program at Cornell University. This includes assisting with team practice and competitions and providing input on player evaluation and other decisions concerning team operations. The Assistant Coach actively scouts opponents and breaks down the performance of our own student athletes. The Assistant Coach also has both on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities, to identify, encourage and evaluate application and acceptance of student athletes at Cornell in accordance with the Ivy League, NCAA and University policies as assigned by the head coach.

This is a 10-months per year, full-time position. Starting salary range is $52,213-$54,000 for this position; final offer will depend on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and up to 1 year relevant experience or equivalent combination
  • Credentials should reflect proven success in coaching, recruiting, and working with student athletes.
  • Knowledgeable of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Must be highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic and a relentless recruiter.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred, especially in NCAA Division I.
  • Experience with video editing preferred.
