This job is primarily responsible for working at warehouse facility that receives and dispatches merchandise to and from our warehouse. This job is primarily responsible for, but not limited to, loading and unloading outgoing and incoming delivery vehicles. You will select products from the warehouse, load, and secure goods to pallets, move inventory to the delivery area, and load merchandise. You will unload stock from delivery vehicles, and transport it to and store in designated warehouse positions. You will always keep your work environment clean and tidy, and comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.In this job, you will:
Actual responsibilities will vary depending on daily needs and type of warehouse.
- Fully participate in the company Safety Program and attends daily pre-shift meetings.
- Perform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE for task being performed.
- Load, unload and/or sort packages of varying sizes and weights by hand and/or by operating a forklift.
- Perform package counting and researching discrepancies.
- Use equipment to track, monitor and verify products for distribution.
- Maintain a clean work area to keep products and merchandise clean and help prevent work related injuries.
- Verify product received against receiving documents, notes and reports discrepancies and any obvious damages.
- Ensure the correct product is directed to the correct storage areas.
- Operate, run, and monitor a variety of heavy equipment, where applicable (e.g. Forklift).
- Perform needed preventative maintenance on equipment, where applicable.
- Complete documentation timely, accurately, and legibly.
- Other duties as assigned; includes all general housekeeping of work area(s).
Here’s what you’ll need to be considered:
Education
Required - High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Required – None.
Preferred - 1 years’ experience working in a warehouse environment with a dependable work record; Experience in operation of additional various heavy equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
- Ability to complete documentation requirements.
- Able to follow direction and to use logical thought process to interpret oral and written instructions and troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to use tools appropriate for assigned task.
- Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
- Ability to multi-task to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to safely maneuver equipment in tight spaces.
- Ability to operate a dolly, forklift, hand trucks and pallet jacks.
Physical Demands & Requirements
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry 150 lbs. regularly.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and balance.
Acutely aware of surroundings with ability to quickly adjust to a signal or change in environment.
Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over two-way radio.
