Job Description Summary

The Global Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Lead position within the Global Logistics & Distribution (GL&D) organization is responsible for successful implementations and continuous improvement of BD’s Global TMS solution. This role will be the global super user and process expert for the BY TMS. This person will specialize in the current and potential capabilities of the TMS and aligning those capabilities with business needs. This position will work closely with global, regional and local supply chain organizations to reduce the cost of transportation using a tier one cloud based business solution. The candidate should be comfortable communicating with supply chain leadership, operational staff, and technical support personnel.

Responsibilities

• Be the global super user and process expert for the TMS

• Support future TMS implementation efforts and reduce reliance on external consulting

• Implement transportation savings opportunities

• Identify process improvement opportunities in the TMS planning space

• Support reporting and metric solutions by leveraging TMS, ERP and BI information

• Close the gap between TMS estimated and actual billed transportation costs

• Mentor regions new to the TMS to become independent master data stewards

• Provide super user training to regional super users

• Document SOPs/Work Instructions for TMS related functions

• Create support and change tickets with BD IT and JDA Cloud services

• Work with BD IT and JDA Cloud services to ensure maximum uptime of the TMS solution

• Build and maintain baseline test cases for global TMS capabilities

• Execute baseline test cases for systems upgrades and functionality releases within SAP and/or TMS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 - 7 years of related experience; or MBA/MS in relevant discipline and 2 - 7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• In depth understanding of transportation concepts such as carrier tariffs, Inco terms, tendering, and freight audit

• Understanding of the end to end supply chain processes, with a broad supply chain background

• Transportation planning experience is a plus

• Must be experienced leading small to mid-sized projects (PMP is a plus)

• Must have a strong process design and documentation background

• Experience with BY TMS is a major benefit

• Experience with JDA Transportation Modeler is a benefit

• Experience with Power BI dashboards is benefit

• Experience with SAP ECC warehouse and transportation capabilities

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

• Must have strong project management skills

• Consulting experience is a plus

• Must demonstrate strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills

• Must have a positive attitude and willing to contribute new ideas

• Ability to travel 10%
