Summary of Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Engineering and Operations, the assistant director is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and management of the university's DISTRICT ENERGY SYSTEM (DES). This includes all aspects of plant operations, encompassing over 22,000 tons of chiller capacity, more than 5000 boiler horsepower, energy production, personnel management, maintenance, safety, performance, contracting, and environmental compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED with nine (9) years of steam, chilled water, and heating water production experience, five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role.

• Or Bachelor's plus 5 years of steam, chilled water, and heating water production experience.

• Valid driver’s license with fewer than 12 points on their Motor Vehicle Record.

• High pressure boiler operator’s license.

• Computer program proficiency level: Intermediate.

Preferred qualifications:

• 5-7 years supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

• CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager).
