This newly created role is essential to managing increasingly complex scheduling demands, patient waitlists, and coordination of care. Under the general supervision of the Director, Heart and Vascular Services, the CCIR Scheduler is responsible managing all aspects of procedural scheduling within the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CCIR) department. This position serves as the central coordinator for interventional cardiology, vascular, and interventional radiology cases, ensuring patient readiness, efficient workflow, and accurate communication among referring providers, nursing units, procedural teams, and CCIR leadership. The Scheduler plays a vital role in facilitating timely, quality care, reducing cancellations and inefficiencies, and supporting departmental growth through embedded expertise and process oversight. Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling oversight: manage and execute all scheduling functions for interventional radiology, cardiology, and vascular procedures within the CCIR.
  • Waitlist Management: proactively manage the CCIR waitlist to ensure timely access to care and minimize delays in treatment.
  • Pre-/Post Procedure Coordination: Scheule procedures and follow-up appointments in alignment with clinical priorities and patient readiness, ensuring seamless care transitions.
  • Communication Facilitation: Serve as a central point of contact for communication between providers, schedulers, and patients to improve service quality, satisfaction, and efficiency.
  • Continuum of Care Support: Ensure timely and accurate follow-up communications and appointments with referring and primary care providers, supporting continuity and quality of care.
 Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent Preferred Education: LVN or associate degree in nursing or imaging/cardiovascular technology.

Required Skills:
Demonstrated ability to manage complex scheduling systems and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Skills:
Prior experience with electronic health records and scheduling platforms (Meditech Expanse). Knowledge of interventional radiology, cardiology, or vascular care terminology and pathways. Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN)
Cardio-Vascular Certified RN (CVRN)Required Experience:
One year experience in health care

Preferred Experience:
One year or more experience in interventional or procedural specialties.
