Job Description
Wynn Resorts is seeking a brilliant Senior Systems Engineer that can provide systems planning-design-building expertise for projects, troubleshooting systems outages, and day-to-day operational support as well as providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform systems engineering design and administrative tasks on all servers to include, but not limited to:
- Install, configure, monitor and tune operating systems, system software, and applications
- Troubleshoot system problems, create and maintain scripts
- Design, plan, budget, and manage successful technology implementations
- Deploy and maintain infrastructure to support common services: file, print, application, database, web, fax, email
- Design and administer the storage architecture – Disk, SAN, Backup
- Deploy and maintain network-centric services – DNS, DHCP, Anti-Virus
- Deploy and maintain infrastructure to support business critical line-of-business applications
- Prepare documentation for systems and business projects
- Assist in the development and communication of standard operating procedures
- Create enterprise computing services infrastructure standards
- Lead efforts to develop appropriate support models surrounding servers, storage, and cloud technologies
- Participate in development of enterprise security infrastructure including physical, operating system, and application level security domains
- Assist in the design and development of secure physical facilities such as technology centers and telecommunication rooms
- Develop and use methods to quickly build remote offices and relocate technical resources
- Assist Network Engineering with the build and support of the LAN and WAN environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN
- Assist workstation support resources with the development of a comprehensive desktop deployment, management, and support methodology
- Train help desk, technician, and junior systems engineering staff in troubleshooting, support, and escalation practices
- Provide leadership and guidance to the support team
- Work with project managers to develop appropriate vendor contract verbiage, service levels, equipment specifications, and project timelines
- Manage external hosting and systems resources
- Perform vendor product technical reviews; compare competing vendor products; develop recommendations for selected products
- Assist in vendor contract negotiations
- Prepare and deliver presentations on systems engineering recommendations
- Work on multiple projects and objectives simultaneously in a 7x24x365 environment
- Participate in the on-call schedule to provide 24-hour support
- Perform systems engineering functions within a framework of standards striving to increase systems effectiveness, uptime, and risk avoidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, or similar disciplines or equivalent work experience/education combination
- Must have one if not all technical certifications, such as: MCSE, UNIX, Solaris, Cisco, or Oracle is highly preferred
- Must have at least a minimum of seven (7) years’ of experience in a large or enterprise IT environment
- Experience in Perl Programming and other languages is preferred (C, C++, Visual Basic, Java, HTML)
- Strong understanding of directory-based infrastructure and systems engineering
- Understanding of network communication protocols (TCP/IP, etc.)
- Working understanding of popular server environments including MS Windows Server, Solaris, AIX, *nix, AS400
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable and fault-tolerant service infrastructure within a large client server environment.
