The Financial Analyst-Business Insights & Product Performance is responsible for supporting the residential and ommercial business team with a detail oriented and creative approach to Financial Analysis. Responsible for analyzing financial data, driving process improvements, and providing insights to support decision-making processes. Requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 1 year of related experience similar to the duties of this position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, build, and implement moderately complex models and templates to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of data collection processes and analysis.
- Conduct profitability, cost-benefit, and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis to identify trends and opportunities to drive financial performance for new and existing products and services.
- Partner cross functionally to develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to measure and improve business performance.
- Perform Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) related activities such as monthly financial performance variance reporting and annual budget preparation.
- Compile, interpret and develop presentation materials in support of communicating business outcomes.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis in support of cross functional corporate initiatives, ensuring accuracy and clear communication to support decision making.
- Maintain a current understanding of the competitive, strategic, and financial direction of the company including financial and regulatory policies.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE?
- Professional certifications in financial modeling or CFA.
- MBA or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in building moderately complex financial models or in financial analytics.
- Experience in a regulated or utility environment.
- Experience with programming languages such as VBA, Python, and/or SQL.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis. Knowledge of GAAP principles.
