JOB TITLE: Marketing and Communications Manager
REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief of Development and Communications
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)
LOCATION: Santa Monica, CA
STATUS: Full-Time, 40 hrs/wk, Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $67,000-$70,000 Annually

Founded in 2011, our agency offers trauma-informed, low barrier programs that support young people in exiting the streets and achieving stability so that they can thrive, not just survive. ABOUT THE ROLE:
The role of the Marketing and Communications Manager is to support the Deputy Chief of Development and Communications in guiding SPY’s Brand, Marketing, and Communication strategies. The Marketing and Communications manager will be instrumental in supporting and refining SPY’s Brand, Communications, and marketing capabilities, including helping to shape strategy and tactics as a member of the communications team, guiding and developing strategic marketing initiatives targeting the organization’s diverse audiences; and utilizing communications strategies to raise awareness about youth homelessness and funds for Safe Place for Youth. This role encompasses developing, implementing and evaluating long and short-term initiatives focused on connecting key external and internal audiences in ways that support the organization’s ability to achieve its goals and reinforce/enhance SPY’s reputation, credibility and revenue to support its mission.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Support ongoing development of an integrated Marketing & Communications strategy based on the brand’s positioning, defined organizational objectives, the market landscape, and a deep understanding of key internal and external audiences
- Develop messages and marketing/communications strategies across key traditional and digital channels
- Work with the Deputy Chief of Development and Communications to align the marketing and communications strategies with brand vision and growth strategies considering audience, message, medium, timing, and ROI
- Oversee and manage ongoing marketing budget aligned with organizational goals
- Collaborate with internal colleagues, external agency partners, and others to continually develop, differentiate, reinforce and enhance the brand equity across all channels
- Ensure the brand’s value proposition and mission is clearly defined and reinforced through campaigns that highlight our excellence in delivery and services and tell stories about the young people who we serve.
- Continue to engrain the brand’s positioning, equity, and essence across the organization and make it an important cultural feature
- Ensure that regular photography is occurring to capture SPY’s services, impact, and events
- Work with the Deputy Chief of Development and Communications, the Executive Leadership Team and external Agency partners to maintain a strategic communication plan that supports and promotes all major organization initiatives and clinical programs, etc.
- Collaborate with internal CS colleagues and external Agency/Consultant resources to ensure all stakeholder touchpoints and media channels embrace and reflect the essence of the SPY brand, and that these communications are integrated effectively, produced efficiently and focused on driving results
