About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
- Develop and deploy new technology aimed at step-change opportunities to improve recovery in deepwater assets
- Advance distributed sensing technologies for reservoir surveillance and reservoir management applications
- Develop proprietary algorithms using physics-based methods and machine learning and supporting experimental validation.
- Contribute to the commercialization of analysis software and downhole technology solutions in collaboration with third-party partners
- The position is located at ExxonMobil campus in Spring, Texas
What you will do
- Develop and optimize advanced Python algorithms for fiber optic signal processing and interpretation.
- Apply physics-based modeling, neural networks, and machine learning to extract insights from complex sensor data.
- Support experimental design, data acquisition, and analysis for downhole sensing systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to transition prototypes into commercial software products.
- Document technical workflows, contribute to IP generation, and support technical publications.
About you

Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical)

10+ years of experience in technology development for reservoir engineering

Experience with fiber optic sensing technologies, signal processing, or distributed sensing technologies.

Solid understanding of physics-based modeling and computational methods.

Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with scientific and numerical libraries

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment.
