Job Summary:
The School Receptionist provides office services by supporting, implementing administrative
systems, procedures, policies; and monitoring administrative projects. Maintains an efficient and
effective front office functionality and procurement of supplies. Serves the needs of students,
families, and staff.
Responsibilities & Duties:
? Monitors all incoming public traffic.
? Receives guests and others in a courteous, polite and warm manner.
? Respond to the needs of students, families, and visitors by providing immediate
assistance.
? Appropriately and accurately prepares and distributes routine correspondence.
? May provide clerical and administrative support to the various departments.
? Receive and follow reception schedule/instructions from supervisor and as outlined in
established policies and procedures.
? Operate telephone system as required.
? Answer telephone, determine nature of call and relay information or route call as
appropriate.
? Assist in the direct supervision of the attendance process.
? Oversee attendance accounting and the preparation of attendance reports.
? Enforce PPHS’s rules and regulations related to school attendance reports.\\
? Work closely with all school personnel regarding matters related to student attendance
and welfare.
? Perform other duties as directed by school or PPHS administration.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
? Ability to answer the telephone, take detailed messages, respond to verbal inquiries, take
direction from different sources, handle multiple tasks and be organized in a fast-paced
environment.
? Typing of 30-40 wpm may be required if secretarial support is needed.
? Enjoy working with the students.
? Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in general office procedures.
? Strong organizational skills; oral and written communication skills.
? Able to project a professional image.
Work Environment:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to
stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and
twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight ( up to 20lbs).
