We have an excellent opportunity for 2 reliable individuals who have a passion for our work to assist our afterschool program as a part-time Transportation Assistant Driver for our Grand Rapids location! This is a permanent part-time position, approximately 12 hours per week.
The Transportation Assistant Driver(s) supports the Grand Rapids site by safely transporting New City Kids youth members from the neighboring school(Walker) to New City Kids on a daily basis - Monday - Thursday or transport our Teen Interns from New City Kids to their individual homes. The Transportation Assistant Driver will work closely with the Center Director(and/or Executive Director) to ensure the daily transportation needs are met. There are 2 separate shifts for this position:
Shift 1: Monday - Thursday - 2:30pm - 5:30pm - Transporting Youth from the neighboring school to New City Kids after school Center Shift 2: Monday - Thursday - 6:00pm - 9:00pm - Transporting Teen Program Interns from New City Kids to their individual homes
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Arrive at New City Kids to receive daily update and instruction
- Prepare the New City Kids Van for transport - ensure safe and clean operation
- Adhere to designated time schedules
- Safely operate NCK Van, travel to the neighboring school site to pick up New City Kids Youth and transport them to the Center or safely transport teen program participants to their individual homes for the evening
- Supervise the loading and unloading of youth, ensuring order and safety compliance( safety belt usage, etc.). Ensure youth well -being at all times during transport
- Immediately Report any concerns (behavior or otherwise) to the Center Director
- Adhere to all organization policies and procedures
Transportation Assistant Drivers are required to:
- Be over 21 years of age
- Possess a High School diploma or equivalent
- Have 3 Years of driving experience
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and clean driving record
- CDL preferred
- Successfully pass all background and reference checks
- Safely operate a New City Kids Van, following all traffic laws, rules and regulations
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, have a passion for youth and fostering positive interactions with children, parents and staff
This position pays $15.00/hr Compensation: $15.00 per hour
