The Boeing CompanyThe Commercial Supply Chain and Fabrication Estimating organization is seeking a results-oriented and customer-focused Fabrication Estimating Senior Manager located in Auburn, WA.
The selected candidate will lead a team of geographically diverse estimators responsible for providing Fabrication Leadership with cost estimates, business case analysis, and strategic insights to guide business decisions ranging from daily operations to long-term strategic initiatives for all Commercial Fabrication MBU’s.
The Estimating Senior Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to the Fabrication and Global Supply Chain Leadership Teams and will require close collaboration and partnership with cross-functional business partners including but not limited to Business Operations, Financial Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain Procurement.
The successful candidate will consistently deliver timely, data-driven estimates, business case analyses, and cost recoveries while building and continuously improving a high-performing team that partners across the business to produce actionable analysis and recommendations. They will develop, maintain, and refine estimating tools and methods to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance, and will establish strong working relationships with stakeholders and executives—serving as a trusted advisor. With demonstrated ability to foster positive connections with internal partners and senior leaders, they will communicate effectively both orally and in writing and confidently present and drive accountability in senior leadership forums.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead, coach and develop a team of Estimators (Boeing and Contract) to deliver timely, high-quality estimates, analysis, and business recommendations
Develop detail part estimates, make/buy and strategic sourcing analysis, cost recovery claims, investment analysis, and comprehensive business cases
Partner with functions across the business to develop comprehensive strategies to address real-time business challenges and long-term planning initiatives
Develop the team of individual contributors to expand individual skills and capabilities and strengthen the collective capabilities of the team
Build & maintain an effective management system and operating rhythm to ensure internal and external stakeholders receive the support required to execute key business activities
Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools and best practices utilized by the team to deliver value to the teams internal customers
Prioritize team workload and remove roadblocks to enable the team to effectively support the needs of the business
Manage workforce planning, performance management, hiring, and day-to-day people leadership responsibilities for the team
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
10+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Material Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)
5+ years of experience in project management, leading cross-functional teams
5+ years of experience working with multiple stakeholders (Finance, Supplier management, Program management, etc.)
Previous experience in a formal or informal leadership capacity
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Extensive experience developing complex cost estimates and business case analysis
Experience with aerospace manufacturing (Part Fabrication, Assembly, etc.)
Experience in Business Intelligence and data analytics tools (examples: SQL, Tableau, Power BI, AI) and strong data interpretation skills
Demonstrated capacity to rapidly synthesize technical and business data to ensure quality and comprehensiveness during management reviews
Experience leading a team in a geographically distributed / virtual / hybrid team environment and growing team capability
