The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Systems Architect responsible for the architectural design, development, and deployment of the enterprise's overall systems. Defines system solutions based on user needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Researches, identifies, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery.
Establishes, implements and documents the technology integration or migration strategies.
Define system components according to suitable cost-benefit specification, viable technology, and user domain of experience
Conduct usability tests to verify user experience and ensure all high level requirements are met.
Remain current on industry trends and new technologies for system architecture
Assess potential impacts to affected systems and processes, and provide recommendations for requirements and/or design changes
Regularly confer with developers, analysts, systems engineers and users regarding current and prospective systems changes and future needs
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent in education and work experience
10+ years of related experience
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Must be able to work on complex, technical projects or business issues requiring extensive industry knowledge.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, using initiative to anticipate needs in area of responsibility
Must be highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with HP and Dell enterprise hardware
Experience with systems backup methodologies
Experience with storage, including iSCSI and Fibre Channel
Strong skills with VMware vCenter, ESXi, vSphere Replication
Strong skills with Active Directory, including backup and recovery
Strong Azure experience, including but not limited to Azure native VM, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Application Gateway, and Virtual WAN, is required
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
