About the Role

As a Retail Transport Operations Manager, you are responsible for the overall Retail Transport Operations and related performance in the Logistics Region, ensuring proactive actions to excel in operational excellence and customer value, through strong vendor relationships and balancing cost, service levels and sustainability impact with consideration to end-to-end flows and regional synergies.

This role reports to the Regional Transport & Trade Operations Manager. 

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

  • Overall responsible for Retail Transport Operations and related performance in the Logistic Region, including linehaul and DC Moves Transports.
  • Responsible to define, follow-up and lead the regional teams towards Retail Transport operational goals and priorities.
  • Responsible to ensure proactiveness and mid- and long-term planning of regional Retail Transport operational needs and direction, in alignment with business goals.
  • Responsible to ensure strong Retail Transport provider vendor relationships and visibility of overall operational status, highlighting trends, problems and opportunities in the Logistic Region.
  • Ensure actions to improve operational excellence, securing stable transport operations within defined global operational and tech standards, balancing cost, service levels and sustainability impact with consideration to end-to-end flows in the Logistic Region.
  • Responsible to ensure proactive transport capacity planning and transport related business continuity planning.
  • Responsible to define and follow-up the budget for Retail transport operations in the Logistic Region.
  • Participate in Regional Brands and Regional Business Functions alignments connected to Transport related topics.
  • Align regional commercial agenda with regional Transport & Trade Commercial Team, ensuring clarity on procurement needs and participation in procurement process from an operational perspective.
  • Responsible to lead the implementation of new transport providers and services together with Central Transport Development and Local Transport teams.
  • Ensure regional participation when applicable during implementation of new transport capabilities.
  • Responsible to ensure strong collaboration with Local Transport teams, also providing support and alignment on transport related decisions, operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Ensure close cooperation with regional Online Transport Operations team to achieve cross-channel synergies.
  • Actively stay up-to-date on global logistics end-to-end operational status, KPIs, issues and risks.
  • Identify sustainability opportunities and challenges from a social, economic and environmental perspective.

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • Great ability to collaborate, interact and navigate with central and regional teams and stakeholders, both internally and externally, with all level of seniority.
  • Deep expertise in operational Transport processes and best practices.
  • Solid understanding of specifics and capabilities in regional transport operations to serve Brand needs.
  • Solid experience in Transport related Vendor Management and developing operational performance and cost improvements through suppliers.
  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset, including ability to plan, prioritize and delegate high numbers of tasks with varying workload and importance.
  • Strong understanding of global and regional processes, methodologies and principles.
  • Good ability to effectively set vision and strategy, taking proactive actions, driving performance and consistently producing tangible results.
  • Strong understanding of business needs for both retail and online businesses.
  • Excellent proven communication skills and the ability to build credibility and trust with a wide range of stakeholders.
