Electrical Assembler

Description

Populate Surface mount and thru whole parts into a circuit board by following “Bill of Materials” or manual procedures. Hand solder using solder iron/de-soldering tool or Selective Solder machine. Program IC chips or circuit boards to correct game and test for correct function.

Hours: M-TH 5am-3:30pm. Overtime on Friday will be required based on business need. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for pulling parts required for each job 
• Melts and applies solder using a soldering iron/portable hand torch to multiple surface types 
• Cleans work pieces using a chemical solution 
• Cleans tip of soldering iron using a chemical solution 
• Run the Selective Solder equipment by changing PCB programs 
• Clean, set up and maintain Selective solder equipment following schedule 
• Close attention to details with very small electrical components 
• Testing circuit boards and trouble shoot problems 
• Able to work on your own with limited supervision 
• Actively participates in the Continuous Improvement process 

  Materials and Equipment Utilized:

• Solder iron/ De-solder tools or selective Solder machine 
• Computer      

Working Environment:

• Manufacturing environment 
• Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals 
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock 

Requirements

Education/Training:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 
• Knowledge of soldering and electrical components preferred. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 
• Write routine reports and correspondence. 
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists 
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

• Very Minimal

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel very small parts and reach with hands and arms 
• Frequently required to stand; walk and talk or hear 
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
