Research Coordinator / Lab Manager

Job Summary:

The OCOM Research Coordinator / Lab Manager will oversee the daily operation of the OCOM research laboratory and will provide hands-on support to OCOM faculty and student research projects within the laboratory.

Position Start Date: July 01, 2024.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for laboratory supply and reagent ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory.
• Provide technical and bench research support to OCOM faculty and students.
• Broad range of research laboratory skills including (but not limited to) sterile mammalian cell culture, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, PCR, ELISA and others.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficient in Google Suite, Apple products or related software.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be local to the Central Florida area.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree in a biological/health sciences field
• Three (3) years research laboratory technical experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
