TITLE: Store Marketing & Merchandising Liaison

STATUS: Full-time, At-Will, Hourly DEPARTMENT: Marketing

REPORTS TO: Marketing & Merchandising Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Outpost Marketing and Merchandising Liaison is a creative, energetic, and highly organized position in the co-op that brings joy, hustle and energy to our stores. This role blends visual storytelling with strategic merchandising, helping our teams sell more product, engage customers with compelling displays and optimize space through smart aisle resets. With a deep knowledge of our products and a passion for community, this role plays a key part in driving sales, elevating our social media presence and creating unforgettable in-store experiences.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast paced retail floor with occasional cold climate conditions such as store refrigeration, kitchen and kitchen equipment. Intermittently in business office environment with moderate noise including but not limited to computers, printers, paging, telephones, and human voices. Job related travel within metro Milwaukee area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Customer Service
a. Treat customers, coworkers, and vendors fairly, consistently, and with respect.
b. Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service according to established customer service vision and standards.

2. Primary Responsibilities
Leadership & Cross Functional Communication
a. Model supportive and participatory leadership qualities, promote team building, and motivate staff to achieve their stated objectives.
b. Treat staff and managers with consistency and fairness, in a style appropriate to a cooperative work environment.
c. Ensure that communications are clear, direct, and respectful.
d. Ensure the integrity of Outpost’s stated values in decision-making and interactions with others.
e. Provide and receive feedback with an interest-based problem-solving mindset.

Merchandising
a. Collaborate with store teams to plan displays and reset aisles for optimal flow, product visibility and seasonal strategy.
b. Efficiently execute projects and displays that drive traffic and sales.
c. Collaborate with department managers and staff to maintain monthly endcap and promotional area displays to ensure they are built according to hot sheet with appropriate sign systems.
d. Work between locations as a team on large resets, new stores, and/or remodel projects to ensure correct placement of new products in existing product sets.
e. Work with department managers to coordinate small resets and/or new or discontinued product slotting and shelf allocation.
f. Train and mentor store and department staff on merchandising techniques.
g. Assist departments in completing workload when vacancies exist.

Promotional Events Support
a. Bring high energy when engaging customers during monthly promotion days.
b. Engage customers with product demos and education, sampling product weekly.
c. Work cross functionally to ensure displays and signage align with promotional themes.
d. Help build buzz and create excitement before and during in-store events.
e. Ensure all temporary posters and displays are installed and then removed in a timely manner.
Social Media Collaboration
a. Collaborate with Marketing team on monthly social media strategy.
b. Create content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook weekly to feature new products, events and store experience according to monthly strategy.

3. Program and Information Management; Education
a. Identify and implement educational messaging needed to sell products, including tasting notes, shelf-talkers, and POP.
b. Collaborate with store pricing and department managers to ensure the upkeep of store signage systems, ensuring they are produced and displayed correctly.
c. Audit and implement NCG programming requirements and core product sets as required.
d. Meet with department managers to review any changes to category mix and or vendor selection with information from the Purchasing & Category Manager.
e. Ensure signage at shelf and around stores are current and kept clean.

4. All Staff Duties
a. Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents.
b. Keep store/office orderly and clean.
c. Maintain a positive attitude.
d. Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Minimum of 1 year retail merchandising experience required; natural foods/grocery experience preferred
• Possess strong understanding of social media platforms including best practices and emerging trends with an ability to create engaging content
