About the role

The Pet Emergency and Specialty Center of Marin (www.pescm.com) is looking for a Client Service Representatives to join our wonderful front desk team. We are looking for a full-time candidate to work swing shifts (Sundays through Wednesdays 2pm to 12:30am).



About PESCM:  PESCM, located in San Rafael, is the original 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County, with specialties in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Emergency, Critical Care and Radiology. Our mission is to serve pets and their people by continually pushing to improve our medicine, our service, our communication, and ourselves.

About the Job: As a Client Service Representative at the front desk, you will be responsible for client service as your top priority, including but not limited to: 
  • Welcome our clients in a friendly, helpful, and compassionate manner 
  • Prepare and review documents and medical records accurately and completely 
  • Educate and advise clients regarding PESCM's services and practices 
  • Process appointments, emergencies, and client requests while ensuring the highest quality of care and satisfaction for our clients at all times. 
  • Process admissions and discharges accurately; schedule follow up appointments as necessary 
  • Process invoices and payments accurately 
  • Assist with other administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, and emailing 
About you: 
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting strongly preferred, but extensive client service background without veterinary experience will be considered 
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must 
  • Ability to multi-task in a chaotic environment with competing needs 
  • Ability to answer multiple phone calls efficiently and politely while also prioritizing clients in person 
  • Ability to be compassionate at all times with upset and worried clients 
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required. 
  • Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected 
  • Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!
