POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Zoetis HR team, provide HR support to HR Business Partners, leaders, managers, and colleagues within assigned client group, which includes Zoetis’ Veterinary Medicine Research and Development (VMRD) organization. Partner with the business and HR Business Partners in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, colleague engagement, talent management, leadership development, change management, diversity, equity and inclusion, performance management, workforce planning and compensation planning/implementation. Partner with the Zoetis HR team to ensure successful delivery of corporate HR programs and initiatives across the organization. The primary workplace for this role is onsite in Kalamazoo, MI with some flexibility to work from home during your working week.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior HR Associate role requires effective relationship building and communication skills to serve as a successful partner and influencer to HR Business Partners and managers. Experience should demonstrate success in support of large organizations with a history of supporting operational effectiveness, participating in change activities, aligning HR goals with business imperatives, and coaching business leaders and colleagues.
- Provide counsel, communications, and HR generalist support to managers and colleagues to drive the achievement of business goals.
- Directly support the administration of data quality, payroll/time keeping, recruitment, immigration processes, exit management, leave management, and employee onboarding activities.
- Assist the VMRD HRBP’s in administration of compensation and performance management programs, succession planning, employee development, colleague engagement, and employee relations.
- Function as the primary HR point of contact for all offer-related activities in the recruitment process, including oversight of the candidate selection process, drafting offers for external candidates, consulting on offer negotiations, supporting the immigration process to ensure proper work authorization, initiation of relocation benefits, and all other offer-related tasks.
- Provide project support and/or reporting and data collection requests, as needed.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and state and federal laws and practices. Support EEO initiatives at site(s).
- Within the HR department, make recommendations to improve work processes and help promote an atmosphere of continuous learning.
- Drive successful execution of HR processes, managing multiple priorities concurrently through strong project management, systems knowledge, and effective communications.
- Create a strong network of HR partners across the HR organization and other divisions as appropriate to collaboratively drive and implement HR strategies in support of the business.
- Embrace and drive change for HR programs.
- Support colleague engagement and cultural programs and initiatives.
- Monitor HR data and trends and leverage business intelligence to provide new insights.
- Actively promote and reinforce the Zoetis Core Beliefs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Human Relations, or related discipline required.
- 3-5 years Human Resources experience required
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, matrixed, and data-driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong coaching skills and the ability to use discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential matters
- Ability to work effectively in an environment of change, managing multiple priorities concurrently through strong project management, systems knowledge, and effective time management
- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work in a team setting, collaborating with others and building relationships across the organization
- Knowledge of US immigration procedures preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft applications
- HR Information Systems experience strongly preferred, experience with Workday is ideal
