Senior Software Engineer, Compliance

We're already in UK, France, and Germany, and the new Poland location will act as a global engineering and product development hub alongside our headquarters in Redwood City, California.</p> <p><strong>Why Box needs you:</strong></p> <p>Box GxP is our compliance product offering for Life Science customers, which serves as a rolling evidence that Box functionality is working continuously as intended. Box supports GxP customers by offering: (1) cross-team validation testing orchestration and customer-facing dashboard reporting; (2) quarterly Controlled release management for Box feature deployment to GxP Sandbox environments. We are currently at the stage of re-implementing the test results processing and orchestration framework to address existing gaps and limitations. As a team, we support existing GxP processes from engineering perspective, helping other engineering teams to stay compliant, provide tools to the engineering teams so that they can manage their GxP tests on a self-service basis.</p> <p>You can read more about GxP <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GxP" target="_blank">here</a>.</p> <p><strong>What you'll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Build new version of GxP offering from the ground up</p> </li> <li> <p>Design and build highly scalable, cloud-native microservices in Java or JavaScript</p> </li> <li> <p>Collaborate across teams to integrate services seamlessly, ensuring our architecture is both powerful and efficient</p> </li> <li> <p>Write/review high-quality, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code</p> </li> <li> <p>Team up with other talented engineers to foster solid engineering principles and represent our engineering values</p> </li> <li> <p>Partner with product to scope new features, provide project estimates and milestones to inform quarterly commitments</p> </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What you will bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years in software development, proficient in Java, Scala, JavaScript, or similar languages</p> </li> <li> <p>Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OOP</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience building and operating cloud microservices, preferably in a container environment</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset</p> </li> <li> <p>A passion for clean code, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD)</p> </li> <li> <p>Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders</p> </li> <li> <p>You are a quick learner and able to jump into diverse technology stack</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to Have:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with GCP services.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with containerization (Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with observability tools (e.g. Splunk, Chronosphere, Google Cloud Logging)</p> </li> <li> <p>Knowledge of React or other modern frontend frameworks</p> </li> <li> <p>Background with distributed systems</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Percentage of time spent: </strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>60% coding</p> </li> <li> <p>10% technical design and documentation</p> </li> <li> <p>10% feature refinements</p> </li> <li> <p>10% operational tasks and on-call duties</p> </li> <li> <p>10% collaboration</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Methodology:<br/></strong>Our tech stack offers a diverse and challenging environment, including GCP, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Jira, and more.
