Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

This is a field position -  the area of responsibilities is Coastal NC and South Carolina region from Morehead City to Charleston, including Winterville.

 

The Maintenance Supervisor trains and supervises the service technicians to troubleshoot specific maintenance and utility problems. Provides Facility Engineers with refrigeration system engineering support.

Responsibilities

Supervises maintenance service personnel and activities including emergency situations.

Conducts technical interviews for prospective service technicians and maintenance staff.

Trains maintenance department personnel on maintenance techniques and new procedures.

Trains store personnel on maintenance activities and equipment functions.

Conducts store visits to inspect maintenance activities.

Communicates with store management to determine store needs and deficiencies with regards to maintenance.

Supervises and provides inspections for the preventive maintenance program.

Inspects minor alterations of facility and equipment.

Inspects new/remodeled store for proper installation of refrigeration, HVAC, and energy systems and provides supplementary input to facility engineers.

Provides preliminary engineering for upgrades and remodels, including store design plan review.

Provides information relative to equipment replacement/repair decisions.

Reviews and codes all invoices for maintenance expenditures.

Ensures EPA compliance requirements met.

Handles contractor negotiations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess technical and practical refrigeration and refrigeration controllers, electrical, and general construction knowledge (including EPA certification), with some supervisory experience in a related area.  Should also possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
