About the role

Edelman Global Advisory is looking for a talented public affairs professional to join its Brussels team. We are looking for a Senior Analyst with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in agency, in-house, in the not-for-profit sector and/or in an EU institution, to work across an exciting array of clients and help us develop new business opportunities. We are looking for candidates with interest and experience in EU policy, with strong work ethics, excellent communication and writing skills and an eye for detail. Our clients are demanding, and our work is fast-paced – you will need to be a self-starter, a quick thinker, a strong multi-tasker and a team-player.
Job Responsibilities
The precise nature of activities will depend on the priorities and client work during the time of the placement, to be agreed. However, the responsibilities and tasks are likely to include the following:
-A focus on general EU policy, public affairs strategy and engagement programmes for clients, including but not limited to food and nutrition, consumer policy, and sustainability.-Providing day-to-day support, both agency and client-side, including regular conference calls and clear, concise public affairs briefings for planning roll-outs.-Supporting the organisation and preparation of materials for meetings, events or other client/stakeholders/media engagement activities.-EU policy and media monitoring across different accounts and being able to identify and articulate impact of legislation for clients. -Contributing to research and analysis on various policy issues, identifying policy and market trends, reporting of relevant developments, drafting briefings, reports, updates and other forms of communication.-Liaising with EU stakeholders on behalf of clients.-Attending events of interest to clients and reporting back,-Contributing to new business development, proposals, and practice growth.-Budget management understanding across projects.
Qualifications and requirements
-Native or near-native level of English (oral and written) is required; proficiency in another official EU language is highly desirable.-University degree in political science, communications, international relations, law or other relevant field.-Minimum of three years of experience: In an EU institution, in the private sector, a consultancy, not-for-profit organisation, a national government administration (or a combination of any of the above).-A thorough understanding of EU decision making processes and stakeholders.-Knowledge of food and nutrition policy/industry and/or sustainability policy is a strong asset.-Excellent analytical and written skills.-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - a positive approach with a self-learning attitude. -Ability to work under pressure and on multiple assignments.-Proactive approach, willingness to take the initiative, and ability to develop and maintain a network of contacts with key stakeholders active in the policy field.- Capability to work effectively in a varied environment and within small dynamic teams. What we offer
