Position Overview

 

This position is accountable for assisting the Aircraft Maintenance Foreman in providing for the maintenance requirements of all state-owned fixed- and rotary-wing aircrafts. This position is responsible for acting on flight generated discrepancies, monitoring deferred discrepancies, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and providing assistance for all aircraft inspection programs. The incumbent is further responsible for assisting in the housekeeping of the aircraft and maintenance facilities.

Essential Functions

  • Provides for the expeditious disposition of discrepancies as well as all scheduled, unscheduled, androutine maintenance on all state aircraft.
  • Ensures section supervision is kept advised of the status of discrepancies, work in progress, andestimated completion date.
  • Provides for the cleanliness, operation of support equipment, and the general housekeeping of themaintenance facilities.
  • Provides line service for state aircraft whenever the need arises.
  • Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conduciveto the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of two years of college PLUS a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe andPowerplant (A&P) certificate OR four years of experience in the field of aircraft repair working as alicensed A&P technician PLUS a valid FAA A&P certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cessna Single Engine Aircraft.
  • Experience with Beechcraft King Air 350 Aircraft.
  • Working knowledge of aviation maintenance software and on-line aviation maintenance manual systems.
  • Avionics Maintenance Technician experience.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Requires successful completion of a background screening.
  • Requires successful completion of a pre-employment examination and drug and alcohol testing, and random drug/alcohol testing.
  • Requires occasional statewide travel, which may include overnight stays.
