Job Description
This role can be based in any of our U.S. office locations (including San Francisco, Mountain View, Chicago, Omaha, New York, Washington DC, Atlanta, or Detroit). Qualifications
As the Director of LinkedIn’s Global Environmental Sustainability program, you will lead a team with a two-fold mission: Drive progress toward the company’s ambitious public climate pledges and deliver sustainability solutions for the 1 billion members of LinkedIn, including business leaders, policymakers and non-profit partners advancing green workforce development and just transition.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage Our Sustainability Team. You will lead and organize the sustainability team for impact, furthering its leadership within LinkedIn as subject matter experts for delivering comprehensive, scalable, compliant and accountable sustainability solutions, while also supporting the team’s professional skill-building and career path development. You will help to mobilize the LinkedIn community, including over 3000 LinkedIn employee volunteers, to drive toward more sustainable solutions across its own operations and communities.
- Spearhead our climate pledges. You will spearhead a cross-enterprise program to ensure the sustainability of LinkedIn’s operations in alignment with public timebound climate pledges to have carbon negative, zero waste, and water positive operations by 2030 as well as related reporting:
- Build a roadmap, support implementation, track progress and provide expertise and resources to accelerate action.
- Engage with LinkedIn’s parent company, Microsoft, for sharing of best practices and solutions and refinement of impact accounting methodologies.
- Spearhead executive climate council convening to report progress, identify challenges, gain senior leadership input and support for key success levers.
- Partner with stakeholders across the company, including FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis), Datacenter operations, Workplace design, construction and operations, Sourcing, Employee Travel and Food programs to identify and evaluate the feasibility and impact of initiatives and innovations.
- Deliver sustainability solutions for LinkedIn members and customers. Identify and prioritize opportunities to scale LinkedIn’s impact by empowering our customers and members to take climate action:
- Collaborate with LinkedIn’s Product, Engineering, Marketing and Sales teams to build and launch sustainability solutions that connect green jobseekers and green employers, enable members to build green skills with LinkedIn Learning, and provide business leaders and customers with information and tools to drive their own climate action goals.
- Serve as sustainability voice for LinkedIn, helping to highlight our work on the green economy, and provide expertise for LinkedIn’s global policy engagement supporting green economic growth and climate action.
- Support a just transition to a green economy through partnerships with NGOs advancing access to green skills and green workforce development.
Additional Information
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years in sustainability or related field program management experience
- Experience developing and leading cross-functional projects and programs
- Demonstrated experience creating and executing sustainability programs
- Demonstrated understanding of building sustainability solutions for users/customers
- Experience communicating externally to establish brand leadership

- Corporate sustainability experience
