The Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE), a leading source for transformative, evidence-based ideas about public education, seeks a Senior Research Analyst to support CRPE’s 2026-27 AI in education research agenda. This will include a developmental evaluation of "future-ready" schools that actively leverage AI and other emerging technology in their school models and CRPE’s Think Forward: Learning with AI annual learning forum and fellowship program.

The Senior Research Analyst will play a central role on a dynamic research team, contributing to data collection and analysis across multiple school sites and supporting the design and implementation of the Think Forward Fellowship and Forum, CRPE's convening for national education leaders. The work will inform CRPE's ongoing efforts to understand how artificial intelligence is shaping teaching, learning, school design, and education systems.

The ideal candidate is a mixed-methods researcher with strong analytical and writing skills, hands-on experience working with quantitative data, and school- or classroom-based experience that supports understanding what's happening during site visits and observations. The ideal candidate will also have experience designing and facilitating high-quality professional engagement experiences capable of providing educational leaders with provocative and safe spaces to surface, debate, and synthesize complex challenges facing our educators and leaders today.

CRPE is a strong fit for professionals who possess an entrepreneurial spirit, enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, and are committed to creating equitable opportunities for children, families, and educators. This position is expected to last approximately one year, with an anticipated early August start date, and will report to a Principal Researcher at CRPE.

About CRPE

The Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) is a research organization at Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation, where transformative ideas are rigorously examined and tested, and research informs action. Since 1993, we have remained independent of any single ideology while holding firmly to our core belief that public education is a goal—to prepare every child for citizenship, economic independence, and personal fulfillment—and not a particular set of institutions.

From that foundation, we study what it will take for public education to meet every student’s needs and use those insights to inform meaningful changes in policy and practice.

Our current research explores four broad topics:

  • Students and Families: We work to understand what students and families need from their education system—and how schools can rise to meet those needs.

  • Systems: We examine the inner workings of schools, districts, and state governments, delivering insights into how our education systems work to meet the needs of students, families, and communities.

  • Innovations: We identify promising initiatives outside the traditional education system that have the potential to radically improve teaching and learning, including artificial intelligence, new teacher staffing models, and district-wide innovations.

  • Politics of Change: We study the critical role of politics in determining whether school systems deliver on their promise, and explore the ways public officials, school system leaders, and change-makers can factor political thinking into their strategies for improving education.

By partnering with the Mary Lou Fulton College, a leader in designing the Next Education Workforce™, we are uniquely positioned to produce evidence and ideas that lead the country toward an education system that meets the needs of every student. Over the next five years, we aim to be the go-to source for defining a clear vision and high bar for su
