About the Role...
Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, Inc is seeking a dynamic and experienced Department Manager to lead our Accounting & Capital Credits team. This leadership role is key to ensuring our financial operations run smoothly, efficiently and in alignment with our cooperative's mission and strategic goals. A bachelor's degree in accounting is required to be considered for this position, ensuring candidates possess the necessary expertise to lead effectively in this role.
This is a full-time, exempt position (not eligible for overtime) with standard hours of
8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and occasional after-hours or weekend responsibilities.
What You'll Do...
As Department Manager, you'll:
- Lead and support a team of accounting professionals.
- Oversee all Accounting and Capital Credit operations.
- Develop and implement accounting systems and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and internal policies.
- Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to your team.
- Coordinate year-end audits and manage banking relationships.
- Promote a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
Who You'll Lead...
You'll manage a diverse team including:
- Accountants (I, II, Plant I & II)
- Accounting Administrators and Representatives (AP, AR, GL, Inventory, Purchasing, Regulatory, Lifeline/ACP, Capital Credits)
What We're Looking For...
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of accounting principles and business operations.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity.
Physical Requirements...
- Sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity including close vision.
- Occasionally may be required to lift up to 20lbs.
- May be required occasionally to stoop, kneel or bend.

- This is a safety-sensitive position under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Safety-sensitive is defined as a job that includes operation of a motor vehicle.
- BYOMD (Bring Your Own Mobile Device) is required.
- FRW (Flexible Remote Work) is not available for this role.
