Patient Navigator – Research Study

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Navigator to support a clinical research study on HPV screen self-testing conducted across multiple clinics in the Tampa area. The Patient Navigator will play a key role in engaging patients, facilitating study enrollment, and ensuring smooth coordination of study activities. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently across sites, and adherence to research and regulatory requirements.

 

This position is time-limited and grant-funded.

• Screen patients per protocol and obtain informed consent.
• Collect, label, document, and transport biological samples safely.
• Administer surveys and gather participant-reported data.
• Maintain accurate records and update study databases promptly.
• Coordinate with clinic and research teams across sites.
• Ensure compliance with protocols, ethics, and regulations (e.g., IRB, HIPAA).

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience in office or administrative support or in research support. College education may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.

• A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
  • (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
  • (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
  • (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
  • (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of related experience
• Bilingual (preferred)
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Strong communication and organizational skills
