Position summary
Do you have a passion for Cost Accounting? Our encouraging team environment may be for you! Successful candidates for the Senior Financial Analyst position manage reporting and analysis relating to physical inventory and cost accounting. They will be responsible for maintaining the standard cost system as well as assisting with internal and external customer quotations, and financial appropriations requests. Sr. Financial Analyst will lead reporting and variance analysis. They will participate in the management and leadership to achieve growth and optimal use of resources for BorgWarner Morse Systems and BorgWarner Corporate Economic Value.
Key accountabilities
Maintain existing and design new management reports relating to inventory, productivity, and costing analysis.
Lead the annual physical inventory with the planning, preparation and conducting the process for production materials, perishable tooling and MRO.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and supporting analysis and make recurring and adjusting journal entries for the month, quarter, and year-end financial closing process relating to inventory, inventory reserves, and costing.
Provide support for the monthly forecast and annual budgeting processes as required.
Update the plant standard cost system bills of material, routing, and costing rates annually and on an as needed basis.
Assist with the preparation of internal and external customer quotes with cost analysis and financial modeling as needed.
Work independently (or with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Materials and other departments as required) to analyze, quantify, and make recommendation with regard to variances or expense abnormalities. Work effectively with all levels of management to communicate findings and recommendations.
Maintains internal controls and assists with Audit requirements such as preparing population reports, gathering vital documentation, and responding to requests.
The Analyst is also expected to embrace the thought process of continuous improvement and make contributions towards implementing changes in our systems and processes to increase efficiency
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or BA with 3+ years accounting experience
5+ years of related experience
Manufacturing experience preferred
CPA, CMA, MBA preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
Solid understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
SAP experience preferred
Compensation
$68,000 - $85,000
