YWCA Dayton Position Description

YWCA Dayton, a 24 hours organization dedicated to the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, seeks an energetic, dedicated person to be an integral part of our team. The Food Operations Cook reports to the Food Operations Manager and helps facilitate meal and pantry services for clients and residents. This person supports the mission, vision, and values of YWCA Dayton.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepare and serve meals according to an approved menu plan

· Assemble breakfast bags and food boxes

· Cook in bulk and use commercial kitchen equipment

· Organize, stock and rotate inventory in shelter, break rooms and pantry spaces as assigned

· Maintain kitchen hygiene and sanitation including labeling food items appropriately

· Assist with food pantry

· Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Knowledge of culinary/food service

· Able to lift 30+ pounds and frequently bend

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma/GED required

· 2 years+ of commercial kitchen experience preferred

ANTICIPATED SALARY:

· $16.00 per hour

· Direct legislative local and state advocacy and racial justice training
