Manager, Clinical Excellence & Education
Thyme CareAbout the role
OUR MISSION
We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.
Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person’s cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.
As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.
Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you’re inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what’s possible, we’d love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This role sits within the nursing vertical of Thyme Care’s Quality, Training and Enablement org, focused on the education and development of our nursing care team. You are the primary owner of how nurses at Thyme Care learn, develop, and stay current, building the programs, content, and infrastructure that equip our nursing team to deliver exceptional care at scale. You are distinct from the Training and Onboarding Manager, who owns new hire ramp programs across the broader care team. Your focus is the ongoing clinical education of practicing nurses, including certification, comorbidity knowledge, and clinical standards, after they have completed onboarding.
Own ongoing clinical education program delivery for the nursing team: Design, execute, and continuously improve Thyme Care’s clinical education programs for practicing nurses, including continuing education, evidence-based practice updates, skills development, and specialty training. This role focuses on post-onboarding clinical growth, not new hire ramp.
Build and operate an in-house Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preparation program: Design and own Thyme Care’s internal OCN certification pathway, including study materials, practice assessments, cohort programming, and exam preparation support. Track certification rates over time and continuously improve the program to increase pass rates and nurse participation.
Deliver ongoing education on oncology comorbidities: Develop and maintain a curriculum that equips nurses to recognize, understand, and respond to the comorbidities most common among Thyme Care’s member population. Ensure content stays current with evolving clinical evidence and is actionable at the point of care.
Host live and asynchronous training sessions: Plan, facilitate, and manage a regular cadence of live training events, including webinars, case-based learning sessions, and clinical skills workshops, alongside a library of self-paced async content. Ensure both modalities are well-attended, clinically rigorous, and consistently evaluated for effectiveness.
Act on quality audit findings routed through the closed-loop process: Receive training development priorities surfaced through the org-level quality-to-training process owned by the Senior Manager, QTE Operations, and translate them into targeted clinical education interventions for the nursing team. Track completion and report outcomes back to the process owner.
Audit existing clinical education content and recommend improvements: Conduct structured reviews of current nursing education programs, assessing clinical accuracy, coverage gaps, and delivery effectiveness. Bring prioritized, evidence-based recommendations to leadership for investment and action.
Design and develop scalable clinical learning content: Build nursing education materials across a range of formats, including e-learning modules, job aids, clinical reference tools, and facilitator guides, in partnership with subject matter experts across Clinical, Quality, and Operations.
Track clinical education OKRs and report on program health: Own the metrics that measure nursing education effectiveness, including completion rates, competency assessment outcomes, OCN certification rates, and quality improvement indicators. Report progress on a consistent cadence and use da
