This position is responsible for the financial aspects of the Commuter Rail concession agreement, with Commuter Rail operations/maintenance and capital budgets.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes monthly and annual financial reports, account reconciliations, tracks concession agreement by funding source and tracks cost-sharing responsibility.
- Ensures accurate recording of revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities in conformance with the concession agreement terms and the organization’s accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepares and reports financial data and analyses in support of the organization’s requirements and federal or other reporting requirements.
- Aids the Rail Operations department, Sr. Budget Analyst, Rail and the finance department on an as needed basis.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in Business with emphasis in accounting or public administration.
- A minimum of four years of experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in legal and procedural accounting. Proficiency in reporting and funding requirements of local, state, and federal agencies preferred.
- Proficiency in current General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in internal control procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to research, analyze and reconcile financial data.
- Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and writing means.
- Ability to use sound judgment.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
