Senior Java Developer

At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our UniQue Brussels team!

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services.

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Design and develop software components and building blocks using suitable back-end components and frameworks (Java Spring, JPA)
• Design and implement application integration with corporate IAM services for authentication and authorization purposes
• Delivery through a CI/CD pipeline
• Design application data models
• Design application workflow models
• Design application APIs using suitable frameworks (REST, Swagger)
• Review the architecture of existing systems
• Analysis of the integration of different information systems
• Coordinate the implementation of the technical architecture
• Produce software architecture documents
• Participate in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

• MSc degree + 13 years of IT professional experience
• 6 years of experience in development of information systems
• 6 years of experience with Java web application development (of which, at least 3 years of development experience with Java Spring and REST API development)
• 3 years of experience in development of complex information systems
• 3 years of experience in frontend development using Angular or Kendo UI
• 2 years of experience with Agile software development (refactoring, test-driven development, user story modelling)
• Good knowledge of Atlassian systems (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Balsamiq)
• Good knowledge of Maven
• Good knowledge of Jenkins
• Good knowledge of Docker
• Good knowledge of Junit
• Knowledge of the SCRUM development methodology is an advantage
• A good level of the English language is required
