As a member of the Total Rewards Center of Expertise (COE) team, this role will contribute to the successful delivery of US, Canada and Puerto Rico benefits programs and policies in support of the North America Total Rewards Strategy, including Health & Welfare plans and voluntary benefits. While the incumbent will not have direct reports, this role serve as a strong individual contributor and a liaison between the Center of Expertise (COE) and the Associate Shared Service Center (ASC) staff and will provide guidance and direction on the execution to Benefits related activities. This role reports into the Sr. Manager, North America Health & Welfare Benefits (Total Rewards).  This role is hybrid providing flexibility to work 3 days on site in San Diego and 2 days remote on a weekly basis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement and oversee operations of North America benefits programs that align with company goals and comply with legal requirements

  • Works with various benefit vendors in the delivery of related activities; including open enrollment and benefit implementations

  • Primary contact for the Associate Service Center team members as it relates to collaborating on projects and resolving escalations

  • Provide analytical support of various rewards related activities, including overseeing content management, leveraging the Associate Service Center or local HR resources in delivering North America activities

  • Partners with key stakeholders related to Total Rewards activities including, Finance, Treasury, Procurement and Legal

  • Ensures benefit plans are compliant with coordinating audits, non-discrimination testing, appeals and related activities

  • Reviews and revises plan document and materials, including, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan Documents, and Benefits Communications

  • Supports Total Rewards management in the coordination of project, process or activities and oversees the proper and compliant administration of benefits plans and programs

  • Support of mergers, acquisitions and divestiture activities, including side-by-side Rewards program comparisons and implementation of transition activities and make recommendations, as appropriate

  • Provides expertise and may take a lead role to ensure the timely completion of various COE short-term projects

  • Supports the tracking of health and welfare costs, budgeting and trends

  • Partners with Human Resources Business Partners on supporting the business

  • Partners with Associate Resource Groups to support the diverse needs of associates through Inclusion, Diversity and Equity initiatives

  • Defines and develops rewards tools, templates and related procedures

  • Provides support, fulfills data needs in benchmarking and surveys

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • A Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Finance or a related or equivalent field required. Advanced degree and CBP, CEBS designation and/or Benefits Accounting experience preferred

  • 5 years of Health & Welfare Benefits experience in benefits analysis and implementation in a large, complex organization (Fortune 500 experience preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of North America benefits and employee well-being

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools; expert Excel skills required

  • Strong analytical and project management skills; attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and quickly assess and resolve issues, while translating complex information into understandable terms

  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to lead, prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information; ability to respond to queries in a clear and concise manner
