(USA) Service Shop Preventative Maintenance Technician (Diesel Mechanic)

Position Summary...

Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on all Walmart equipment, such as trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles.

Create and process work orders to assess maintenance, repair, and replacement needs, and identify needed parts and possible solutions.

Select the best possible solution for each task, following company guidelines and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Conduct maintenance, repairs, and replacements, such as repairing and replacing brake system components, like air antiskid and ABS disc brakes, and replacing leaky wheel seals.

Dismount and install tractor-trailer tires, following established procedures.

Communicate with individuals or groups, including customers, suppliers, and associates, both verbally and in writing.

Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.

Receives fuel drops and conducts fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance following procedures for fuel additives monitoring tank levels before and after the drop collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping and completing appropriate paperwork
