Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The purpose of the Senior Manager – Emerging Technologies – Endoluminal role on the GAVE (Global Access, Value & Economics) team is to develop and execute market access and patient access strategies to support commercialization of endoluminal technologies in pre-launch, launch and post-launch phases. This role will partner with Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Business Development, Product Development and other cross-functional teams to establish and execute short- and long-term GAVE strategic plans.
Market and patient access strategies will incorporate elements including (a) reimbursement (coding, coverage and payment) assessments for public and private payers, (b) applied health economic value creation, demonstration and dissemination plans to support the value of Intuitive’s endoluminal technologies, (c) assessment of the needs of all P5 stakeholders (i.e. patients, physicians, providers, payers and policymakers) to support adoption, and (d) integrated strategic planning to support launch in focused global markets.
This role is a key constituent in the GAVE team, representing the needs of endoluminal technologies in alignment with the GAVE mission to remove patient access barriers to adoption within 5 years post-launch. The person will work closely with Centers of Excellence within the GAVE team (especially the Health Economics and Outcomes Research [HEOR] team) as well as Regional GAVE teams in Americas, APAC and EU to establish a solid, evidence-based value platform to support endoluminal technologies.
Essential Job Duties
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Lead the evaluation and development of comprehensive coding, coverage and payment strategies to support commercial launch and adoption of endoluminal technologies, including identification of innovative payment mechanisms to accelerate adoption. 2. Establish post-market strategies to expand economic stakeholder adoption of endoluminal technologies in partnership with Regional GAVE teams. 3. Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with key Endoluminal business unit partners to deepen strategic planning and value development to expand access in targeted markets. 4. Collaborate with Clinical Affairs and HEOR teams to generate publishable evidence and tools to support stakeholder adoption of endoluminal technologies, address health technology assessment (HTA) needs, and payer demands. 5. Generate voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback on clinical and economic challenges faced by external stakeholders and develop strategic recommendations to align value messaging to customer needs and resource development.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience developing and executing market access strategies for novel technologies, especially interventional technologies utilized in the hospital setting.
- Broad working knowledge of various healthcare and provider systems; health technology assessment (HTA) agencies and processes; and reimbursement systems and trends influencing technology adoption.
- Extensive experience in market and patient access strategies and demonstrated ability to drive interactions and influence hospital stakeholders and decision makers. Analytical selling and field marketing experience are highly desired. <
