Salary Range: $90,400.00 - $103,400.00

Position Summary

Provides customer-focused support to WCM faculty and administrators for pre-award and non-financial post-award management of sponsored project proposals and awards.

Job Responsibilities

• Serves as grants and contracts subject-matter expert in support of a number of Departments' and Principal Investigators' grants and contracts portfolio.
• Reviews funding proposals to ensure accuracy and compliance with sponsor and institutional policies and requirements.
• Reviews and submits Just-in-Time (JIT) and other post-award sponsor requests, as well as annual reports and closeout reports.
• Liaises with sponsors and federal officers, both throughout the pre-award phase and during award management and closeout.
• Collaborates with staff and other central offices in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
• Assists with proposal development and submission of a wide variety of funding opportunities; from highly complex grant mechanisms to standard research grants, career development awards, and fellowships.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge and expertise in federal state private agencies’ regulations and policies and stays abreast of new laws and OMB circulars which affect sponsored program activities.
• Serves as the liaison between sponsors and WCM for research processing operations including pre-award and non-financial post-award requirements and reports.
• Independently researches answers to complex grant submission questions; escalates as needed.
• Prepares and presents training programs, including power point presentations, for faculty and department administrators.
• Provides sound judgement and ability to make decisions in the manager’s absence.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Degree pursuing candidates may be considered based on years of experience. 

Approximately 2 years of experience in higher education.

Approximately 2+ years in Grants and Research Administration.

Higher/Advanced Educational studies (Degree pursuing or Continuing Education) is highly desired. 

Healthcare knowledge-clinical setting, administration or operations is highly desired.

Research Integrity (Conflicts, IRB, DSMB, IBC, IACUC, etc.) policy knowledge is preferred. 

Institutional research experience a plus.

Knowledge of Grants.gov system-to-system platforms a plus.

• Ability to work independently, under minimal supervision.
• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as with a team.
• Ability to handle multiple simultaneous demands and prioritize work.
• Effective organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and function effectively in a high volume work environment.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Excellent English language skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, complex environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
• Ability to review contract details and apply appropriate language.
